Extensive Listening/Viewing HW


せんしゅう　にほんの　えいがを　みました。 

The えいが was very cool as I got to see how visual effects are streamlined. It was a えいが about a bomb being planted on the bullet train and how it could not go below a certain speed, but it also focused on political climates of にほん, the がっこう life of the children on the train and the role of a conductor. It shows me how much more valued service workers are in にほん compared to アメリカ, which can also be a representation of collectivism vs individualism between the east and the west.


I recognized a lot of words that involved actions like ジョギング, みる, のむ, and たべる (such as when the cart lady asked the kids if they wanted something to eat). Also, I learned more about the role of trains in にほん and how they can actually travel very long distances across the くに. I also found out the にほん emergency number is いち いち きゅう not 9-1-1 like アメリカ, which was interesting how even emergency numbers can change.

こんにちは  わたしほ Yash です. わたしほのせんこうは しんりがくです. だいがくいちねんせいです.   This week has been going by very fast, but somehow I finally found the time to rewatch some of my favourite anime. I also recently watched Sakamoto Days, which is an anime about an assassin who has retired but it forced to go against new agents who are trying to take down the old organization.  Also, I started to try and read the original Japanese version of Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto, which I had formerly read in English. It is a very interesting book that blends Japanese culture with fiction and a little bit of magic and spirit.  I was also busy booking tickets to the Japanese and Korean Festival Week movies, and I am excited for some of them, especially Mal-Mo-E: the Secret Mission (a Korean film) and Shoplifters (2018) a Japanese film. Media: Extensive listening and watching

Today I watched spyxfamily. It is a very good show about Anya Forger who has telekinetic powers to read peoples minds and lives with her Spy father and Assassin mother. Through the show, I actually learned some adjectives we learned in the recent unit like こあくない and わからない。I think that with the Japanese subtitles, I also have stopped leaving them on and try to see if I can catch words that I am familiar with especially as I see -てform and くない being used with adjectives.

Anime Extensive Listening

わたしわこのしゆまつにあたらしアニメをした。 The new anime was called Great Pretender and it is about a conman in Japan who gets recruited by international thieves who steal from bad people. In this, he develops a relationship with a French guy named Laurent and Laurent's girlfriend both of whom support and raise him to become a better person. I think this was a new kind of anime for me because the にほんご they were talking in was supposed to be "English" as they were in America but then it was spoken in Japanese!
